I’ve owned a VW it had nothing but problems. My mother owns a VW after 5 years things started giving out. I assisted a teacher once who owned a jetta and on occassion she didn’t make it to the studio because her car would crap out. Old vintage Volkwagens aren’t bad but that’s not really what your looking for. Nissans tend to do pretty well and you can find fuel efficient compacts. Toyota is always a good car but they tend to be a little more expensive. Basically anything that originated in Asia is a pretty safe bet. And if something in a Nissan or Toyota gives out it’s a lot easier/Cheaper to fix.
